As the cottage is 10 miles north of Edinburgh a day trip takes about 3 hours each way.

Viaduct at Glen Ogle is worth looking out for.
Old fashioned corrugated garage just after the viaduct on the way up.
The pier has a marvellous fish stall with langoustines, dressed crab, own smoked salmon ( tasters) lobster tails, prawn sandwiches etc.
